Job summary

Cummins Mellor are assisting an established business in Darwen to recruit a Credit Controller to join the finance team. This is a hands-on, high-volume role focusing on B2C credit control, online transactions and keeping customer accounts up to date with timely payments.

You will monitor payments, chase overdue balances and support wholesale accounts as experience grows. Salary £30,000 - £32,000.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control or similar accounts role.
• Capable of handling a high volume of transactions and accounts.
• Confident chasing payments and handling customer queries.
• Organised, accurate and able to prioritise a busy workload.
• Proactive with the confidence to follow up overdue payments.
• Good communication skills and a practical problem-solving approach.
• Able to hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high volume of customer accounts and outstanding payments.
• Monitor online transactions and ensure timely payments.
• Keep customer accounts and online portals accurate and up to date.
• Chase overdue payments by phone and email.
• Investigate payment queries and resolve discrepancies.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers.
• Maintain records of credit control activity.
• Work with internal teams to resolve issues.
• Support wider credit control function as required.
• Progressively take on wholesale accounts and more complex customers as experience grows.
