Job summary

Pertemps Banbury Commercial in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, is seeking a Credit Controller / Finance Assistant. The role offers a permanent, full-time opportunity with salary up to £29,500 and standard Mon-Fri hours. You will manage customer debt, perform credit checks, and support broader finance activities in a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate will have credit control and sales ledger experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Excel. Sage 200 experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous credit control and sales ledger experience.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proactive approach and confidence dealing with customers over the phone.

Responsibilities

• Proactively managing and collecting outstanding debt.
• Chasing overdue payments via telephone, email and written correspondence.
• Maintaining and reconciling customer accounts.
• Allocating customer payments accurately.
• Producing regular debtor and aged debt reports.
• Issuing statements and supporting documentation.
• Investigating and resolving payment queries.
• Processing new credit account applications and conducting credit checks.
• Supporting the wider finance team with additional duties as required.
• Assisting in maintaining debtor days and cash flow targets.
