Job summary

Pertemps Banbury is recruiting for a Credit Controller / Finance Assistant based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire. The role offers a salary up to £29,500 and standard Monday–Friday hours, in a permanent, full-time position.

You will be responsible for collecting outstanding debt, reconciling accounts, and providing finance support within a friendly team. The role suits someone proactive with strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Previous credit control and sales ledger experience
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• A proactive approach and confidence dealing with customers over the phone
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Proactively managing and collecting outstanding debt
• Chasing overdue payments via telephone, email and written correspondence
• Maintaining and reconciling customer accounts
• Allocating customer payments accurately
• Producing regular debtor and aged debt reports
• Issuing statements and supporting documentation
• Investigating and resolving payment queries
• Processing new credit account applications and conducting credit checks
• Supporting the wider finance team with additional duties as required
• Assisting in maintaining debtor days and cash flow targets
