Job summary

Just Temps is seeking an experienced Credit Controller for a temporary assignment in Halstead, Essex. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5pm, with an hourly rate of around £20.

This position focuses on managing ledgers, chasing payments, and ensuring accurate posting of receivables. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, experience in accounts receivable, and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

Responsibilities

• Manage an allocated customer ledger and keep accounts within agreed credit terms.
• Contact customers by phone and email to chase outstanding payments.
• Allocate and reconcile customer payments accurately.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and account queries promptly.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records.
• Escalate overdue or problematic accounts as needed.
• Collaborate with the finance team to resolve queries and ensure timely payment.
• Assist with aged debt reporting and ledger reviews.
• Support wider accounts receivable and finance administration as required.

Job description

Credit Controller- We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller on a temporary basis for up to 4 weeks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in credit control, accounts receivable, or finance administration who is available at short notice. This role is based in Halstead, Essex.

About the Role:

This is a full-time role, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm. Hourly rate circa £20.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage an allocated customer ledger and ensure accounts remain within agreed credit terms.
• Contact customers by telephone and email to chase outstanding payments.
• Allocate and reconcile customer payments accurately.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and account queries promptly.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records.
• Escalate overdue or problematic accounts where appropriate.
• Work closely with the wider finance team to resolve queries and ensure timely payment.
• Assist with aged debt reporting and regular ledger reviews.
• Support wider accounts receivable and finance administration as required.

About You:

• Previous experience in a Credit Controller / Accounts Receivable position.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Confidence speaking with customers regarding outstanding payments.
• Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and finance/accounting systems.
• A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.
• Experience working with high-volume ledgers or within a fast-paced finance environment would be advantageous.
