Job summary

Workforce Staffing Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Credit Controller to manage debt collection and client communications. The role focuses on B2C collections with insurance sector exposure preferred, and involves reporting, reconciliations, and collaboration across the finance team.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of credit control experience, GCSEs in Maths and English, and proficiency in EPIC or QuickBooks. Hybrid working includes one day per week remote after six months.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a Credit Controller role, preferably in insurance.
• GCSEs with Maths and English (grade C/4 or equivalent).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with EPIC and QuickBooks or similar accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Debt collection and administration of loans.
• Ensure signed documents are received from clients.
• Prepare AUDDIS and DD collection files and related reports.
• Process payments and receipts across internal systems; update refund information.
• Daily bank reconciliations and Client Money Account support.
• Liaise with external debt collection agencies and progress collections.

Job description

Job Title: Credit Controller

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £28,000-£30,000 per year

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - opportunity to work from home 1 day per week after 6 months

The role

As a Credit Controller you will play a crucial role in managing and collecting debts from our clients, ensuring the company maintains a healthy cashflow. You will build strong relationships with internal and external business partners, to resolve payment queries and support the wider finance team. Please note that this is dealing with BtoC customers, so it would be preferable that you have strong BtoC collections experience. If you also have experience within the insurance sector, that would be a bonus.

Key Responsibilities

• Debt collection experience
• Administration of loans
• Ensuring signed documents are received from clients
• Preparation of AUDDIS and DD collection files
• Processing ADDACS & ARUDD reports
• Processing PCL receipts into EPIC (insurance ledger)
• Processing payments across internal systems
• Receipting card payments in EPIC cashbook
• Weekly Debt reporting
• Liaising with external debt collection agencies
• Referring cases when escalation necessary
• Liaising with agency to progress collections
• Reporting on agency progress
• Processing refunds
• Money to client bank/credit cards
• Preparing bank payments for authorisation
• Updating inhouse system with refund information
• Daily bank reconciliations
• Supporting on Client Money Account reconciliations & receipting
• Assisting in other Finance tasks when necessary
