Axon Moore are working with a growing business in Altrincham to recruit a Credit Control Clerk into a newly created standalone position.

You will own the ledger, chase debt, support month-end processes, and help drive improvements across the finance function within a hybrid setup.

Axon Moore are working with a growing business based in Altrincham to recruit a Credit Control Clerk into a newly created, standalone position.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller who enjoys a varied role, likes to get stuck in and wants the autonomy to take ownership of the ledger and make the role their own.

The business is continuing to grow, and this role will play an important part in supporting cash flow, maintaining strong customer relationships and improving processes across the finance function.

Location: Altrincham + Hybrid

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000

Main duties:

The position will be varied and is about much more than just chasing cash! Responsibilities will include:

• Raising and issuing accurate sales invoices and credit notes.
• Managing a ledger of B2B customer accounts and proactively chasing outstanding debt.
• Reviewing aged debt, monitoring credit limits and escalating potential risks.
• Allocating customer payments and supporting month-end reconciliations.
• Investigating and resolving invoice queries, pricing discrepancies and customer debit notes.
• Working closely with sales, commercial and logistics teams to resolve queries.
• Maintaining accurate customer records and supporting new account setups and credit checks.
• Supporting improvements to processes, including the development of EDI and automation.
• Providing regular reporting and updates on aged debt, cash collection and outstanding queries.

Person specification:

• Previous experience in a B2B credit control or sales ledger role.
• Ideally, experience within manufacturing, retail, FMCG or wholesale.
• Confident managing customer accounts, chasing debt and resolving queries independently.
• Organised, proactive and comfortable working in a standalone position.
• Someone who enjoys a challenge, takes ownership and is keen to contribute to a growing business.
