Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Credit Control Officer to join our busy and growing Finance team to manage the credit control function for the company.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage the company’s credit control policy, ensuring customers adhere to agreed credit terms.
• Send invoices and statements to customers.
• Run routine checks via Credit Safe regarding customer credit ratings before approving credit requests.
• Establish terms of credit for customers and ensure invoices are paid on time.
• Renegotiate customer payment terms.
• Reconcile and maintain the debtor’s ledger across several companies in the business.
• Liaise with customers and respond to queries.
• Liaise between company departments.
• Prepare aged debt reports for management when required.
• Manage the small claims process for the business, including preparing and submitting claim files.

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Self‑motivated with a positive attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including verbal, written and active listening.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and IT skills.
• Excellent knowledge of the small claims process.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Previous experience of Sage 200 Accounts is preferable.
