Job summary

Adaptable Recruitment, a reputable professional services business based in Manchester City Centre, is seeking a Credit Control Manager to lead a four-strong team and drive cash collection. This hybrid role requires strong debt recovery expertise and experienced stakeholder engagement to improve processes and outcomes.

The role offers up to £45k DOE, with benefits including Bupa/ Medicash, life insurance, income protection, and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing, coaching and developing a credit control team.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end credit control and debt recovery.
• Experience managing aged debt, cash collection performance and KPIs.
• Experience setting, monitoring and maintaining client credit limits.
• Confidence influencing senior stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Commercial awareness of revenue generation and working capital.
• Willingness to work across Liverpool and Manchester offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of four Credit Controllers, creating a high-performing environment.
• Manage workloads, KPIs and collection targets to achieve business objectives.
• Oversee the end-to-end credit control and debt recovery process.
• Drive cash collection performance and reduce aged debt across the client portfolio.
• Manage and resolve complex, sensitive and escalated debtor matters.
• Set, monitor and maintain client credit limits for risk control.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to support debtor management.
• Challenge stakeholders to improve collection outcomes where needed.
• Monitor debtor performance and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Produce management information relating to aged debt, cash collections and team performance.
• Ensure compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting.
• Support wider finance and working capital initiatives.
