Job summary

SF Partners in Derby is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a supportive finance team on a temporary ongoing basis. The role focuses on managing a portfolio of debtor accounts, chasing payments and resolving queries to protect cash flow.

You’ll work in a hybrid pattern, liaising with customers and internal departments, producing statements, and supporting reporting and audits. Strong Excel skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Credit Control.
• Able to manage own ledger and chase debts.
• Proficient with Excel and MS Office.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor your own portfolio of debtor accounts, ensuring payments are received within agreed terms.
• Proactively contact customers to chase outstanding balances via telephone and email.
• Investigate and resolve account queries and payment discrepancies.
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal departments to support debt recovery.
• Manage the Credit Control inbox and respond to queries promptly.
• Produce and issue customer statements and relevant correspondence.
• Support direct debit collections and cash allocation activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records.
• Assist with reporting, reconciliations and audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and procedures.

Credit Controller - Derby (Hybrid Working)

Job Type: Temporary Ongoing, Full Time

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Working Pattern: Hybrid/Remote Working

SF Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established and supportive organisation based in Derby.

Working as part of a friendly finance team, you will play a key role in ensuring outstanding debts are managed effectively, maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider business.

Key Responsibilities
