Job Description

My client, a Global Bank, is looking to hire a Credit Analyst with experience in reviewing Project Finance or Structured Finance.

Principal Purpose of the Job:

1. Minimise the Bank’s credit-related losses by identifying, measuring, and mitigating credit risks in proposals and reviews.
2. Provide clear, unambiguous recommendations to the Credit Committee in accordance with the Bank’s credit policies, maintaining objectivity within the credit process.
3. Monitor and assess credit risk within the Bank’s asset portfolio.

Reporting Relationship:

The Credit Risk Department handles Credit Approval and Management functions. This role reports to the Deputy Head/Manager of the Credit Risk Department.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

1. Prepare credit evaluation reports for various credit products, including transaction overview, risk analysis, key risks, mitigation measures, and credit recommendations.
2. Assist in implementing credit risk appetite, policies, procedures, and management processes.
3. Ensure credit transactions comply with policies.
4. Focus mainly on project finance but may cover other sectors based on proposals from the front office.
5. Challenge and guide proposals from the Front Office; draft and present credit opinions to the Credit Committee, maintaining objectivity and independence.
6. Achieve timely turnaround of proposals and reviews.
7. Provide risk analysis and mitigation measures to Head of CRD, DGM, and Credit Committee.
8. Conduct post-lending management, including monitoring credit exposures, borrower performance, and compliance with loan conditions.
9. Perform industry and customer research for new proposals and annually for existing customers.
10. Proactively monitor industry trends and counterparty risks for early warning signals.
11. Assist the Head/Deputy Head of Credit Risk in other tasks as needed.

Senior Management Function (SMF):

This role involves managing aspects of the firm’s affairs related to regulated activities that could have serious consequences.

The role holder must comply with the Senior Managers and Certification Regime requirements.

Skills Required:

• 3-5 years' experience in Project Finance/Structured Finance credit review.
• Deep knowledge of risks and mitigations across industries, countries, and client types; strong financial analysis, projection, and stress testing skills.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; positive attitude.
• Collaborative yet capable of working independently.
