Job summary

Blue Coat Church of England School and Music College is offering a Theatre Apprentice position in Coventry. This temporary, full‑time role runs for 21 months (or until completion of the apprenticeship) with 37 hours per week.

The salary is £8.00 per hour (£15,434 pro rata per annum). The apprentice will gain hands‑on experience in theatre and events, supporting staff and students and helping to maintain spaces.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in theatre, live events and supporting staff and students.
• Clear written and verbal communication, professional conduct.
• Reliable, organised and self‑motivated with a positive approach to tasks.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to learn new skills through training and the apprenticeship programme.
• Flexible to support a range of activities, including some evenings, weekends and out‑of‑hours events.
• Familiarity with safeguarding responsibilities and child protection training as directed by policy.

Responsibilities

• Gain practical experience across theatre and event activities.
• Support staff and students, help prepare and maintain theatre and performance spaces.
• Assist with the smooth running of lessons, productions, events and external bookings.
• Work as part of a busy, supportive team while developing technical production skills.
