Job description

Full-time | 5 days a week in office | NW1 Salary: £40,000–£50,000 depending on experience, plus benefits Start date: ASAP

Can you see a film in a fitting, a story in a swatch and a conversation in a beautifully made piece of clothing?

The stories are already there. This role is for the person who knows how to find them and turn them into social content people want to watch, share and return to.

An independent, family-run womenswear brand is looking for a bright, imaginative and highly engaged Creative Social Media Manager to translate its distinctive world into intelligent, original content and help shape the next chapter of the brand across social.

The brand is known for expressive colour, beautiful fabrics, distinctive silhouettes, global craft, art, culture and women with their own point of view.

Based in a beautiful, light-filled design studio and HQ in Primrose Hill, the successful candidate will be close to the entire creative process — from first sketches, new fabrics and fittings to campaign shoots, conversations with designers, arrivals from independent makers, boutiques and the everyday life of the brand.

That access is what makes this role special. They will not be creating from a distance; they will be there when the stories begin.

The Role

The Creative Social Media Manager will lead the brand’s organic social presence from the first idea through to final insight, with Instagram and Facebook at its heart, while keeping a thoughtful eye on where the brand should go next.

They will:

  • Shape and deliver a distinctive social strategy and editorial calendar around new collections, campaigns, cultural moments and always-on storytelling.
  • Create compelling, social-first content hands-on — developing ideas, styling, filming, photographing, editing, writing and publishing.
  • Bring the brand’s world to life through stories about colour, cloth, fit, design, craft, makers, customers, boutiques and behind-the-scenes studio life.
  • Plan and capture content at fittings, shoots, events and stores, while spotting opportunities that cannot always be scheduled in advance.
  • Write copy that feels warm, intelligent, expressive and human.
  • Build genuine relationships with the community, responding with care and creating reasons for people to join the conversation.
  • Identify relevant creators, artists, stylists and collaborators, helping to develop partnerships that feel authentic to the brand.
  • Work closely with design, creative, eCommerce, retail and marketing teams so that social thinking begins at the start of a project, not at the end.
  • Use performance data to understand what is connecting, turning insight into stronger creative and communicating results clearly.
  • Protect the brand’s visual identity and tone of voice while giving both the freedom to evolve.
About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a maker as well as a thinker. They will understand the difference between content that is simply polished and content that has a real idea behind it.

They may already be working as a Social Media Manager, or could be an exceptional Senior Social or Content Executive ready to take full ownership of a brand’s social presence.

They will bring:
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong taste, original ideas and content that has achieved something.
  • Excellent short-form video skills, including the confidence to shoot and edit engaging content independently.
  • A sharp eye for composition, colour, movement, pacing and detail.
  • Strong copywriting skills and an instinctive understanding of tone of voice.
  • A deep working knowledge of social platforms, formats and audience behaviour.
  • The judgement to know when a trend can become distinctive to the brand — and when it should be left alone.
  • Confidence using analytics to improve creative ideas, rather than simply filling a monthly report.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to move comfortably between long-term planning and unexpected creative opportunities.
  • A collaborative, communicative and generous approach, with the confidence to champion their ideas.
  • A genuine curiosity about fashion, art, craft, design, culture and the women the brand dresses.

Experience within fashion, lifestyle, culture or another design-led consumer brand would be valuable, but great work, sound judgement and genuine creative instinct matter more than a perfectly conventional CV.

What the Brand Offers

The successful candidate will join a committed and collaborative team, with direct access to the creative process and the opportunity to work within an independent brand with a distinctive point of view and a loyal community.

Most importantly, the role offers genuine scope to influence how the brand looks, sounds and connects with people.

The role is full-time and based entirely in-house, 5 days a week, at the brand’s design studio and HQ in Primrose Hill, London NW1.

Benefits
  • Salary of £40,000–£50,000 depending on experience
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Pension
  • Staff discount
  • Annual bonus
  • Complimentary classes at a local yoga and Pilates studio
