Job summary

The Manchester Metropolitan University invites applications for an entry level Resource Centre Technician in the Creative Practice & Galleries Resource Centre, part of Technical Services. You will support counter services, handle basic equipment preparation, and contribute to gallery and workshop setups.

The role offers a buddy system, ongoing training, and potential to undertake a Level 3 Collections Technician apprenticeship alongside the role.

Qualifications

• Interest in working in a technical environment.
• Entry level position with buddy system and comprehensive training.

Responsibilities

• Counter service at the resource centre.
• Purchasing and issuing resources using current systems.
• Basic preparation of workshop, studio and gallery areas using designated equipment.
• Cleaning of workshops, studios and storage areas in preparation for classes and for annual clean down.
• Stripping down, setting up and general upkeep of workshop equipment and machinery.
• Assisting in the preparation and installation of artwork in the gallery and studio spaces.
