Job summary

Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking an entry-level Resource Centre Technician to support the Creative Practice & Galleries workshops and studios in a dynamic technical services environment. You will join a diverse team ensuring smooth operation, learning, teaching, research and outreach activities through hands-on support.

The role offers training opportunities, a buddy system, and potential progression to a Collections Technician Level 3 apprenticeship, with flexible working

Qualifications

• Interest in working in a technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Support counter service in the resource centre.
• Purchase and issue resources using current operating systems.
• Prepare workshop, studio and gallery areas using designated equipment.
• Clean workshops, studios and storage areas in preparation for classes and for annual clean down.
• Strip down, set up and upkeep of workshop equipment and machinery.
• Assist in the preparation and installation of artwork in gallery and studio spaces.
