Job summary

Enemy of Boredom Academy seeks a creative Learning Support Assistant to join our Bristol site. The role is part-time (2 days/week) on a fixed-term 12-month contract with funding likely to extend, start asap.

You will support learners with SEND (ASD/ADHD/anxiety) in-class and in small groups, helping with communication, attention, emotional regulation and positive behaviour while fostering independence and confidence in an inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND (ASD, ADHD, anxiety).
• Experience in a school/education environment.
• Patient, empathetic and proactive approach.
• Strong classroom management abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of managing EHCP outcomes would be advantageous.
• Willingness to undertake enhanced DBS check and comply with safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class and small-group support to help learners access planned activities and achieve learning outcomes.
• Use strategies to support communication, attention, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Promote learner independence, confidence and peer interaction.
• Support preparing-for-adulthood and life skills activities as directed by the curriculum/session plan.
• Assist tutors with resources preparation and basic digital tool use where appropriate.
