Job summary

Urban Outfitters in Milton Keynes is seeking a Display Artist to uphold high standards of visual and display excellence. You will work with the Visual Merchandising Manager to craft creative yet commercial window and in-store displays that inspire customers.

You will interpret seasonal directions, use floor-set inspiration, ensure craftsmanship, mentor store teams, and help manage display budgets and safety, while driving sales through compelling environments.

Qualifications

• Strong artistic background including fine arts, design or architectural background.
• Ability to develop creative ideas into working solutions.
• Talent and interest in artwork, painting, paper hanging and carpentry skills.
• Excellent construction craftsmanship skills and experience creating 3D work.
• Ability to communicate effectively and possess strong organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret Company direction to create artistic, visionary and commercial displays.
• Utilise seasonal books to plan floor sets reflecting customer and store location, infusing prototype artistic and cultural interests.
• Ensure excellent craftsmanship across windows and in-store displays.
• Actively seek outside inspiration and contribute unique perspectives to display concepts.
• Promote the Urban philosophy and mentor retail teams on display through training on visual expectations and materials/tool management.
• Identify and develop team members to assist in display projects and seasonal set-ups by working with VMM and store management.
• Attend daily meetings and share inspiration and pertinent information from Head Office with the store team.
• Model integrity, fairness and professionalism in daily interactions and communicate inspiration to Head Office.
• Maintain organised display areas, signage storage and fixture rooms, ensuring safety standards.
