Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is assisting a Brent-based secondary school in appointing a passionate Design & Technology Teacher to join its DT department.

The successful candidate will teach across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 depending on experience, and contribute to the development of an engaging, practical curriculum. You will foster creativity and problem-solving through a well-equipped workshop, uphold high standards of safety, and support enrichment and STEM initiatives while preparing

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge and practical workshop experience.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
• Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.
• ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and practical DT lessons that inspire creativity and innovation.
• Teach students the principles of design, manufacturing, problem-solving, and product development.
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress, ensuring all learners achieve their potential.
• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations where applicable.
• Maintain a safe and effective workshop environment in line with health and safety regulations.
• Support students in developing practical, technical, and analytical skills.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, STEM projects, and enrichment opportunities.
