Job summary

Compass Group UK&I Defence is seeking an ambitious Chef to join our team on a full-time basis, 37.5 hours per week. You will prepare and serve high-quality food, supervise a kitchen, and help create menus while upholding safety and brand standards.

You will work 5 days out of 7, with opportunities to progress within a values-driven employer that rewards dedication and delivers comprehensive benefits and career development in a Defence-focused operation.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent required.
• Food Hygiene certificate required.
• Experience supervising a team in a kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food services.
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to improve services.
• Supporting creation of new menus and concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
