Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is recruiting an ambitious Chef on a full‑time basis (35 hours per week) to deliver high‑quality food for Defence. You will lead kitchen operations, develop menus, respond to feedback, and uphold hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent required.
• Food Hygiene certificate required.
• Experience supervising a kitchen team is essential.
• Experience in a similar Chef role is essential.
• Flexibility to work shifting patterns is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food services.
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to improve services.
• Supporting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens well-stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
