Job summary

Q Crane & Plant Hire Limited is seeking a qualified Crane Engineer for the Oldham depot. The role involves workshop-based inspections, servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs across our fleet of lattice boom and telescopic crawler cranes, with occasional customer-site visits across the UK.

The successful candidate will support safe maintenance, mobilisation and operation of our crane fleet and work closely with operators and the engineering team. Training and development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as crane/plant/heavy vehicle engineer or similar mechanical role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults on crawler cranes and associated equipment.
• Carry out repairs and component replacement per manufacturer guidance.
• Perform planned maintenance, servicing and safety inspections.
• Attend crane breakdowns at customer sites across the UK.
• Assist with rigging, mobilisation and handovers; maintain records.
