Job summary

Alecto Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Crane Engineer for the Midlands, a field-based role that puts you out on the road supporting customers on-site. You’ll service, inspect and repair mobile cranes and lifting equipment, with a company van and fuel card provided.

You’ll diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults, carry out LOLER inspections to safety standards, and complete job sheets and reports. This is a long-term role with training, development and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong background in crane engineering, heavy plant, lifting equipment, or similar mechanical/electrical maintenance.
• Solid understanding of hydraulics, electrics, motors, controls and lifting systems.
• Ability to fault‑find under pressure and work safely.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, inspecting and repairing mobile cranes, overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control system faults.

Mobile Crane Engineer - Midlands (Field‑Based)

£45,000 + Van + Fuel Card + Overtime Available Monday-Friday

If you're an experienced engineer who enjoys getting stuck into mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault‑finding, this mobile crane role will suit you down to the ground. You'll be out on the road supporting customers, carrying out inspections, servicing, repairs and breakdown work on a range of lifting equipment.

This is a solid, long‑term position with proper support, proper kit, and the freedom to manage your own day.

What You'll Be Doing

What You Need
