Driver Hire is seeking an experienced Crane Engineer in the Exeter area to join a growing team. The role covers inspection, maintenance, servicing, repair and fault-finding of cranes and lifting equipment to keep machinery safe and compliant.

You will work both independently and as part of a wider engineering team, supporting clients with technical guidance and ensuring high workmanship standards. A full UK driving licence is essential for site visits.

Competenze

• Experience as Crane Engineer or Field Service Engineer or similar.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and service manuals.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Mansioni

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on cranes and lifting equipment.
• Diagnosing and repairing faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Conducting inspections and safety checks per regulations.
• Responding to breakdowns with effective fault-finding solutions.
• Completing service reports and documentation accurately.
• Ensuring safe work practices and compliance with health and safety laws.
• Installing, testing and commissioning new lifting equipment when required.
• Providing technical advice and operational guidance to customers.
