Job summary

Briggs Equipment Group is hiring a Crane Engineer for our Belfast team. The role focuses on servicing, maintaining, and repairing gantry crane equipment at customer sites, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

You will assess maintenance needs, determine scope of work, and coordinate with customers on timelines and costs. A technically grounded candidate with hydraulic, mechanical and electrical knowledge is ideal, able to work independently and manage a busy workload.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification.
• Experience in crane, lift or elevator roles with electrical bias.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical principles.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
• Understanding customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, performing regular maintenance, and repair of gantry crane equipment.
• Attending customer locations to determine the likely scope of work and ensuring safe working practices.
• Liaising with controller and customer on the range of expected work, timescales and costs.
• Identifying root cause of a breakdown and sourcing correct parts.
• Ensuring all work complies with engineering standards.
• Carrying out inspection/checks on own work and ensuring equipment is safe before handover.

We have a new opportunity for a Crane Engineer to join our team based in Belfast.

In this role you will be:

• Servicing, performing regular maintenance, and repair of gantry crane equipment.
• Attending customer locations to determine the likely scope of the work required and ensuring safe working practices are adhered to.
• Liaising with controller and customer on the range of expected work providing clarity and understanding by all parties the likely timescales and associated costs are understood.
• Identifying the root cause of a breakdown in a timely manner and ensure the correct parts are obtained.
• Ensuring all work complies with engineering standards.
• Carrying out inspection/checks on own work as it proceeds and ensuring that the equipment performs satisfactorily and is safe before handing back to the customer.

What will help you to excel in this role:

• Relevant technical qualification
• Previous experience in related roles, including crane engineer, lift engineer, elevator technician, with an electrical bias.
