Job summary

Briggs Equipment Ltd is seeking a Crane Engineer based in Belfast to join our engineering team on a permanent basis. You will service, maintain and repair gantry crane equipment, visit customer sites, assess work scopes and ensure safe working practices.

We expect a relevant technical qualification and prior crane/elevator related experience with hydraulic, mechanical and electrical knowledge. You should work independently, prioritise workload and understand customer needs.

• Relevant technical qualification.
• Experience in crane engineer, lift engineer, or elevator technician roles with an electrical bias.
• Good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical and electrical principles.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to manage and prioritise workload.
• Understanding customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, performing regular maintenance, and repair of gantry crane equipment.
• Attending customer locations to determine the scope of work and ensuring safe working practices.
• Liaising with controller and customer on the range of expected work, timescales and costs.
• Identifying root cause of a breakdown in a timely manner and obtaining the correct parts.
• Ensuring all work complies with engineering standards.
• Carrying out inspection/checks on own work and ensuring equipment is safe before handing back to the customer.

We have a new opportunity for a Crane Engineer to join our team based in Belfast.

In this role you will be:

• Servicing, performing regular maintenance, and repair of gantry crane equipment.
• Attending customer locations to determine the likely scope of the work required and ensuring safe working practices are adhered to.
• Liaising with controller and customer on the range of expected work providing clarity and understanding by all parties the likely timescales and associated costs are understood.
• Identifying the root cause of a breakdown in a timely manner and ensure the correct parts are obtained.
• Ensuring all work complies with engineering standards.
• Carrying out inspection/checks on own work as it proceeds and ensuring that the equipment performs satisfactorily and is safe before handing back to the customer.
