Job summary

Empowering Learning is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Rochdale. This flexible supply role offers you the chance to choose your days with a minimum of three per week and to gain valuable classroom experience.

Start date is September 2026. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage behaviour, support pupils with set work, and adhere to safeguarding policies while building positive relationships with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional references covering the last two years.
• Right to work in the UK.

Are you confident, reliable and passionate about supporting young people? We are currently recruiting enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Rochdale. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants or anyone with experience working with young people who is looking for flexible work within education.

The Role

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour and ensure students remain engaged with their learning.
• Support pupils in completing set work.
• Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Follow the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Ideally has experience working with young people in a school, sports coaching, youth work, mentoring or similar setting.
• Confident managing classroom behaviour, including challenging behaviour.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Available to work a minimum of 3 days per week.
• Adaptable and able to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Essential Requirements
