Job summary

Amnis Education in Dudley is looking for confident Cover Supervisors to work across local secondary schools. You will supervise classes during short-term absences, with pre-prepared activities, helping pupils stay engaged and supported.

Candidates with experience with young people, strong communication and organisational skills are invited to apply. A degree or relevant qualification is desirable; safeguarding checks and references will be required.

Job description

Amnis Education is looking for confident, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Dudley and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, experienced teaching assistants, sports coaches, youth workers or anyone with strong experience supporting young people who would like to gain valuable classroom experience.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. Work will already be prepared, and your role will be to ensure pupils remain focused, engaged and supported throughout the lesson.

The role will involve

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson activities
• Managing classroom behaviour confidently and professionally
• Supporting pupils with their learning
• Following the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies
• Providing feedback to teaching staff at the end of each lesson

We would like to hear from applicants who

• Have experience working with children or young people
• Are confident managing groups of secondary-aged pupils
• Have strong communication and organisational skills
• Are dependable, adaptable and professional
• Hold a degree or relevant qualification, although this is not essential
• Are able to provide suitable references and complete the required safeguarding checks

Previous school-based experience is desirable, but applications are also welcomed from graduates, sports coaches, youth workers, tutors and teaching assistants looking to progress into teaching.
