Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a confident SEN Cover Supervisor for a special needs school in Surrey. The role involves supervising classes during teacher absences and supporting students with autism, communication needs, dyslexia, and anxiety-related barriers to learning.

You will deliver pre-set plans, provide individual and small group support, and assist with behaviour management in a structured environment. Immediate start and ongoing training are included.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4/C or above).
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g. ASD, SEMH).
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom supervision skills.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or Cover Supervisor training) are desirable.

We are seeking a confident and compassionate SEN Cover Supervisor to join a special needs school in Surrey supporting students with autism, communication needs, dyslexia, and anxiety‑related barriers to learning.

In this role, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning while supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development in a structured and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre‑set lesson plans and ensure students remain on task
  • Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN
  • Support behaviour management in line with school policies
