Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Leatherhead, Surrey is seeking a confident SEN Cover Supervisor to support students with autism, communication needs, dyslexia and anxiety‑related barriers to learning.

You will supervise classes during teacher absences, deliver pre-set lesson plans, and provide targeted SEN support to help students' academic, social, and emotional development in a structured, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN students (ASD/SEMH) is preferred.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above.
• Ability to manage behaviour and supervise class effectively.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
• Remain calm, patient and adaptable in a classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage classes in the absence of the teacher.
• Deliver pre-set lesson plans and keep students on task.
• Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN.
• Support behaviour management in line with school policies.
• Encourage engagement and participation in learning.

We are seeking a confident and compassionate SEN Cover Supervisor to join a special needs school in Surrey supporting students with autism, communication needs, dyslexia, and anxiety‑related barriers to learning.

In this role, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring continuity of learning while supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development in a structured and nurturing environment.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (e.g. ASD, SEMH)

• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or Cover Supervisor training) are desirable
