Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming secondary school in Cannock to recruit a Cover Supervisor on a long-term basis, with potential for permanence. You will supervise classes during teacher absences, deliver set work, and support students’ learning while contributing to the school’s wider life.

The role requires experience with children, GCSE Maths and English, and an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant or willingness to progress. Strong communication and safeguarding commitment are essential.

Qualifications

Salary: £100 - £120 per day

The school is looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor on a long-term basis, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right Cover Supervisor. The successful Cover Supervisor will supervise whole classes during teacher absences, deliver pre-set work, manage behaviour effectively and support pupils' learning while contributing to the wider life of the school.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) with strong numeracy and literacy skills
• NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively
• A proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach with a commitment to safeguarding
