Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support secondary schools in Leeds and Wakefield. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour and help students stay engaged while gaining valuable experience ahead of teacher training.

Ideal for graduates or aspiring teachers, sports coaches or youth workers who communicate well, remain calm under pressure, and build positive relationships with students and staff. Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with students and staff.
• Calm, adaptable and resilient with strong classroom management.
• Experience with or interest in working with young people is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects in the teacher's absence.
• Manage classroom behaviour to create a positive and productive learning environment.
• Support students to remain engaged and focused throughout lessons.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff across the school.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and lesson progress.

Join secondary schools across Leeds and Wakefield, supporting students aged 11–18 by delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects. You'll play a key role in maintaining a positive learning environment while gaining invaluable experience working alongside experienced teaching staff.

What you'll do:

• Graduates, aspiring teachers, sports coaches, youth workers, tutors, or experienced Cover Supervisors.
• Strong communicators who can engage and motivate students.
• Calm, adaptable and resilient, with excellent classroom management skills.
• Previous experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential.
