Job summary

GSL Education Leicester is recruiting a Primary Cover Supervisor to support EYFS, KS1 and KS2 across Leicester and Leicestershire. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage behaviour, and keep pupils engaged throughout the day.

Role offers opportunities across multiple schools with flexible full/part-time long-term placements. Ideal candidates hold a degree or Level 3 qualification and have safeguarding checks in place.

Primary Cover Supervisor Role

The successful Primary Cover Supervisor will be working as part of an energetic and supportive team and will focus on maintaining continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher.

You will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour effectively, and support pupils to remain engaged and motivated throughout the school day.

We are looking to recruit a Primary Cover Supervisor who is confident working with children of varying ages, abilities, and learning needs, including those who may face barriers to learning.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Hold a degree or relevant Level 3 qualification
• Have experience working with children or young people
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills
• Be confident leading classes independently and following lesson plans
• Have the ability to adapt to different year groups, learning styles, and needs
• Be flexible, proactive, and committed to supporting pupil progress and wellbeing

Desirable:

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or EAL needs
• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or HLTA
• Knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• QTS, PGCE, or other relevant teaching qualifications
