Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Cover Supervisor in South Gloucestershire to start in September. You will deliver pre-planned lessons when the class teacher is absent and manage behaviour to keep students engaged, with full training provided for progression from Teaching Assistant or Sports Coach roles.

The role offers daily pay rates (£110-£130) and a supportive recruitment partner with ongoing onboarding and CPD opportunities through My-Progression.

Qualifications

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive secondary school in South Gloucestershire that is looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor. The school provides a positive learning environment where students are encouraged to achieve their potential and staff are supported to develop their skills and classroom experience.

The school is looking to take on a Cover Supervisor on a full-time basis from September. The successful Cover Supervisor will deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, manage classroom behaviour and ensure secondary-aged students remain engaged with their learning, with full training provided for candidates looking to progress from a Teaching Assistant or Sports Coach role.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Previous experience working with secondary-aged students, ideally as a Teaching Assistant, Sports Coach or within an educational setting
• Confidence leading groups of young people and delivering pre-planned classroom activities
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and school staff
• A proactive, adaptable approach with a genuine enthusiasm for education
