We are looking for numerous Cover Supervisors to fill ongoing requirements across the region. These roles are crucial for maintaining high educational standards and often involve block bookings to cover absences. We offer training opportunities for candidates to develop their skills.

What is cover supervision?

Cover supervision involves overseeing classes during a teacher’s short-term absence when lessons are pre-prepared. Responsibilities include:

1. Supervising students according to the lesson plan and using provided resources.
2. Managing student behaviour as per school policies.
3. Assisting students with their work and responding to questions.
4. Handling emergencies and issues following school procedures.
5. Collecting and returning completed work.
6. Reporting any issues during the lesson.

Requirements:

• Own transport to reach multiple schools and willingness to respond to early morning requests, often turning into ongoing placements.
• Excellent behaviour management skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.
• Good written and spoken English, with capacity to develop curriculum knowledge. Computer literacy is essential.
• Availability to work full-time, 8:30-15:30, is preferred.
• UK experience as a Cover Supervisor is essential; relevant experience as a Teaching Assistant may qualify for training opportunities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student development.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing needs.
• Welsh speaking skills are a plus and can attract higher rates, especially in Welsh Medium Schools.
