Job description

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational, dynamic, and enthusiastic Band 7 Allied Health Professional or Registered Nurse for the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) Integrated Autism Service (IAS) Team. The team is moving to a new base at Ysbyty George Thomas in Treorchy but covers the entire CTM Health Board.

The Integrated Autism Service (IAS) offers diagnostic assessments for adults and direct support for autistic adults and their parents/carers. The service also provides professional consultation, joint working, training, advice, and support to all sectors supporting autistic individuals.

The bank worker will be an autonomous practitioner responsible for managing their workload in accordance with NICE guidance, professional conduct standards, and legislative requirements related to neurodevelopmental services. Full training for diagnostic assessment will be provided to the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

The IAS provides diagnostic assessments of autism in adults and offers time-limited post-diagnostic interventions for autistic adults and their families, particularly those not meeting eligibility criteria for secondary care mental health or learning disability services. The service also offers professional consultation and engagement across sectors, along with autism-related training.

The bank worker will participate in and contribute to adult diagnostic assessments and, in collaboration with team members, develop and implement highly specialist interventions for autistic adults and their families. They will work in partnership with existing teams to strengthen relationships, co-produce resources, develop transition arrangements, and explore opportunities for joint working.
