Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Aberdare to recruit a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join after the October half term.

This temporary role runs from November until February half term 2027. You will supervise pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4, maintain a positive classroom environment and help pupils stay engaged with their learning. Excellent communication, reliability and a calm, adaptable approach are essential.

Start Date: November 2026 (After Half Term)
Salary: £110 per day
Contract: Temporary – Until February Half Term 2027 (Initially)

The successful Cover Supervisor will be responsible for supervising pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, maintaining a positive classroom environment and ensuring pupils remain engaged with their learning.

The successful Cover Supervisor will:

• Have previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils.
• Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Be confident supervising classes across KS3 and KS4.
• Be adaptable, reliable and enthusiastic about supporting young people.
• Have excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Be able to follow lesson plans and maintain continuity of learning.
• Promote a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
