Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a reliable Cover Supervisor to support Nottingham secondary schools. This role offers flexible day-to-day work with potential for long-term opportunities and temporary to permanent progression.

You will supervise KS3/KS4 classes, deliver pre-planned work, and help maintain productive classroom behaviour. The successful candidate will have experience with 11–16 year olds, strong classroom management, and clear communication with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children aged 11-16.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 and deliver pre-planned work when staff are absent.
• Maintain positive behaviour and ensure students stay focused during lessons.
• Support schools in creating welcoming, engaging learning environments.

Job description

TeacherActive is proud to be working with secondary schools across Nottingham who are looking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor. These schools aim to create welcoming and engaging learning environments where students are encouraged to develop their skills, build confidence and achieve their academic goals.

We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to work on a flexible day-to-day basis, with the potential to secure long-term opportunities. The successful Cover Supervisor will be responsible for supervising classes across KS3 and KS4, delivering pre-planned work in the absence of teaching staff, maintaining positive behaviour and ensuring students remain focused throughout their lessons.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people aged 11-16
• Experience working in a classroom or educational environment is desirable
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills
• The ability to communicate effectively with students and school staff
• A positive, proactive and adaptable approach to working in different school environments
