Job summary

PK Education are currently looking for a confident and capable Cover Supervisor to join a school in Ashington, starting as soon as possible. The role involves providing effective cover, keeping lessons on track, and ensuring students stay engaged in the absence of their usual teacher.

The ideal candidate will have experience with young people in an educational setting, strong classroom management, and the ability to follow lesson plans quickly. DBS check required or willing to apply for one.

The school is looking for someone who can hit the ground running, confidently manage classes and pick up lesson plans quickly. You will be required to provide effective cover for lessons, ensuring students remain engaged, focused and on task in the absence of their usual teacher.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working with young people in a school or similar educational setting.
• Be confident managing a classroom and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Be able to quickly understand and follow lesson plans and instructions.
• Have strong classroom management skills and the confidence to deal with challenging behaviour when required.
• Be reliable, organised and adaptable.
• Be able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Have a calm, professional approach and be able to work independently.
• Be available to start ASAP.
• Have an Enhanced DBS registered on update service, or be prepared to apply for a new DBS.
