Job summary

Reed is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Surrey and West Sussex for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers or individuals with experience working with young people seeking flexible, rewarding work in education; you will supervise classes during teacher absences and help students stay engaged with the work set.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
• Ability to confidently manage groups of students in a classroom.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Reliable, professional and adaptable in varying school environments.
• Experience with young people in education, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absences to maintain learning continuity.
• Ensure students stay engaged with the work set and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Liaise with teachers and school staff to support lesson delivery.
• Adapt to different schools and year groups as required.
• Support safeguarding and classroom routines as directed.
