Job summary

Academics is partnering with a supportive secondary school in North Staffordshire to recruit a full-time Cover Supervisor for an immediate start. You will maintain continuity in learning when a teacher is absent, supervise across subjects, and support students with their learning in a positive, inclusive environment.

This temp-to-perm opportunity offers a potential pathway into a permanent role, with access to a wide network of Staffordshire and Cheshire schools and dedicated consultant support.

Qualifications

• Confident, professional and positive classroom presence.
• Ability to manage behaviour effectively and build positive relationships with young people.
• Two months' UK-based experience with young people (e.g., schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work, mentoring).
• Reliable, adaptable and comfortable working across different subjects and year groups.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Passionate about supporting young people's education and development.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials.
• Maintaining a positive, productive and inclusive learning environment.
• Managing classroom behaviour confidently and effectively.
• Keeping students engaged, focused and on task throughout lessons.
• Supporting students with their learning where appropriate.

Academics, a leading education recruitment agency based in Stoke-on-Trent, is working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in North Staffordshire to recruit a full-time Cover Supervisor for an immediate start.

This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play an important role in maintaining continuity in students' learning when their usual teacher is absent.

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials.
• Maintaining a positive, productive and inclusive learning environment.
• Managing classroom behaviour confidently and effectively.
• Keeping students engaged, focused and on task throughout lessons.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
