Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting a Cover Supervisor for a Derby secondary school in Sinfin, starting immediately on a full-time, long-term basis. You’ll deliver pre-planned lessons, manage challenging behaviour, and keep students engaged KS3–KS4 in a busy learning environment.

Ideal applicants will have a relevant qualification or degree (desirable), proven classroom management, strong communication and organisational skills, and a resilient, adaptable approach.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary school based in the Sinfin area of Derby, who are looking to appoint an experienced Cover Supervisor. The school requires a confident and resilient individual who can manage challenging behaviour effectively and maintain high expectations within the classroom.

The school is looking to take on a Cover Supervisor on a full-time, long-term basis, starting immediately. The successful Cover Supervisor will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, managing classroom behaviour, maintaining a focused learning environment and ensuring students remain engaged and on task throughout the school day.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• A relevant qualification or degree is desirable
• Previous experience working in a secondary school environment
• Proven experience of effective classroom management and managing challenging behaviour
• Confidence in supervising classes across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A resilient, adaptable and proactive approach to supporting students
