Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking confident, enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support local secondary schools across Bicester. You will supervise classes when teachers are absent, deliver pre-set work, and ensure pupils stay engaged and on task throughout lessons.

This flexible supply role offers daily pay of £140-£160, weekly pay, and a variety of placements from short-term to longer-term across Bicester secondary schools.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
• Confidence managing groups of secondary-aged pupils
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• References covering a minimum of the last two years

A Day in the Life of a Cover Supervisor with Monarch Education

No two days are exactly the same. You could be:

Job Description

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising secondary school classes when their usual teacher is unavailable.

You won’t be expected to plan lessons or mark work. Your role will primarily involve delivering pre-set work, managing the classroom effectively and ensuring students remain engaged with their learning.

This role is ideal for experienced Cover Supervisors, graduates considering a career in teaching, sports coaches, youth workers, Teaching Assistants, or anyone with strong experience working with young people.

Requirements

To work as a Cover Supervisor with Monarch Education, you will need:

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
• Confidence managing groups of secondary-aged pupils
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A professional, proactive and adaptable approach
• References covering a minimum of the last two years
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to complete a new DBS through Monarch Education
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
