Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in Aberystwyth is seeking a motivated Cover Supervisor to support pupils across KS3/KS4. You will supervise lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring pre-planned work is completed and maintaining a calm, productive classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people within a Secondary School or educational setting (desirable)

• The confidence to manage a classroom independently while following school policies and procedures

The schools provide a welcoming and inclusive learning environment, with a strong emphasis on developing pupils' confidence, independence and academic achievement.

TeacherActive is looking to take on a motivated Cover Supervisor on a temporary / permanent basis, with an immediate start available. The successful Cover Supervisor will support pupils across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring pupils complete pre-planned work and maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment. The role will involve managing classroom behaviour, supporting pupils with their learning and encouraging students to remain engaged and focused throughout their lessons.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Experience working with children or young people within a Secondary School or educational setting (desirable)
• The confidence to supervise classes and deliver pre-planned work across a range of subjects
• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• The confidence to manage a classroom independently while following school policies and procedures
• A flexible, patient and adaptable approach to supporting pupils' learning
• A genuine passion for education and helping young people reach their full potential
