Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is hiring a Casual Security Officer to safeguard multiple court and tribunal sites around Aberdeen. You will support access control, monitor activity and respond to incidents, maintaining a welcoming environment for visitors and staff.

The role is flexible and mobile across sites with varying shifts, Monday to Friday during court hours. A valid SIA licence, DBS clearance, right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence are required, plus a professional, calm approach.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced DBS and BS7858.
• Valid SIA licence and relevant security experience.
• Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Professional, reliable and detail-focused approach.
• Good understanding of security procedures and health & safety practices.
• Ability to stay calm and respond effectively in challenging situations.
• Ability to travel between sites within a defined area.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, welcoming, customer-focused service to all court users.
• Control access to buildings, ensuring security procedures are followed.
• Operate security equipment including CCTV, x-ray machines and metal detectors.
• Conduct searches and bag checks on entry following site procedures.
• Monitor public and restricted areas and communicate with control points.
• Patrol court buildings and satellite locations as required.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents and security concerns.
• Accurately record and report all incidents and activities.
• Support safe and secure movement of people within the building.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism and compliance at all times.
