The Role

As a Court of Protection Solicitor, you will manage a varied and rewarding caseload of matters involving vulnerable individuals, complex mental capacity issues, and deputyship applications. This is an opportunity to work alongside nationally recognised specialists in a highly respected private client division.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Handling health & welfare and property & affairs applications
2. Advising on deputyships, statutory wills, LPAs, and best interests decisions
3. Representing clients at the Court of Protection and liaising with medical experts
4. Working with high net worth and vulnerable clients with sensitivity and professionalism
5. Supporting junior team members (if appropriate) and contributing to team development

Requirements:

1. Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years’ PQE (Court of Protection experience essential)
2. Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
3. Ability to manage complex and emotionally sensitive matters
4. Law Society Mental Capacity Accreditation desirable (not essential)
5. Excellent communication, empathy, and attention to detail
6. A team player who thrives in a collaborative, high-performing legal environment
