Job summary

Phoenix Futures is seeking a Service Manager to lead a countywide service supporting individuals with multiple and complex needs across Essex. You will oversee day-to-day delivery, develop a skilled team, and work with commissioners to deliver high-quality, evidence-based services that empower people to change.

The role offers a competitive salary (£30,500–£36,000 pro rata) and a comprehensive rewards package.

Qualifications

• Experience of managing staff.
• Understanding of the complex issues presented by individuals who use the service.
• The ability to build effective working relationships with health providers, the police, youth services, mental health & substance use organisations.
• Experience of working with people within a health/criminal justice/substance use or similar field.
• The ability to report performance data and information to managers and commissioners.
• The ability to be innovative and flexible to meet the needs of the service.
• Determined, with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn.
• Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support.
• To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and be familiar with database management systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day running of a countywide service.
• Develop and support a skilled team.
• Oversee service delivery and ensure high-quality, evidence-based services.
• Collaborate with commissioners and partners across Essex.
• Provide signposting, onward referrals, and advocacy.
• liaise with professionals and accompany people to services.
• Ensure strategic oversight and continuous improvement of the service.
