Job summary

Gi Group is seeking a Counterbalance Forklift Operator in Patchway (BS34). The role offers rotating shifts (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm), a £13.85 per hour rate, and an immediate start. Temporary to permanent with progression opportunities and a supportive team.

Location: Patchway, BS34. Start date: Immediate. Pay: £13.85/hour. Contract: Temporary to Permanent. Candidates with forklift experience and a valid or in-house licence are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Counterbalance licence accepted (valid, expired or in-house).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift safely.
• Pick, pack and perform general warehouse duties.
• Manage Goods In / Goods Out processes.
• Use warehouse systems for stock checks, bookings and inventory updates.
• Maintain racking, stock rotation and warehouse organisation.
• Assist with manual handling tasks as needed.

Role Details of a Counterbalance Forklift Operator

• Location: Patchway (BS34)
• Hours: Monday to Friday - rotating weekly (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)
• Pay Rate: £13.85 per hour
• Start Date: Immediate
• Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Key Responsibilities of a Counterbalance Forklift Operator

• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift (valid, expired or in‑house licences accepted)
• Picking, packing and general warehouse duties
• Managing Goods In / Goods Out processes
• Using warehouse systems for stock checks, booking in/out and updating inventory
• Maintaining racking, stock rotation and warehouse organisation
• Supporting manual handling tasks, including occasional heavy lifting

Requirements of a Counterbalance Forklift Operator

• Previous warehouse or forklift experience preferred
• Valid, expired or in‑house Counterbalance licence accepted
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual and safety‑conscious
• Basic IT skills, including:

• Using tablets and scanners for stock control
• Navigating an ERP system for bookings and inventory updates
• Inputting quantities, measurements and material data
• Completing digital warehouse bookings
