Menzies Distribution Solutions in Wakefield is seeking a Warehouse Operative/Counterbalance Driver to accurately receipt goods and despatch customer orders, while supporting production areas and maintaining a strong safety culture.

The role requires a Counterbalance Licence and hands-on FLT experience, with a 4-on/4-off days shift pattern and 42 hours per week. It is a full-time, permanent position in a busy warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Counterbalance Licence and have experience operating one.
• 1+ year of counterbalance FLT experience.
• Computer literate.
• Previous warehouse experience, ideally in the food and/or beverage industry.

Responsibilities

• Operate counterbalance forklift and use hand scanners to receipting pallets.
• Receive pallets from production lines and scan into warehouse system.
• Pick orders for despatch and ensure accurate quantities.
• Rotate stock (FIFO) and consolidate as required.
• Maintain high safety standards and keep work area clean.
• Assist on loading bay during busy periods.

Counterbalance Forklift Driver/Warehouse Operative

Menzies Distribution Solutions are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative/Counterbalance Driver to join our team in Wakefield.The purpose of the role is to provide accurate receipt of customer goods in to the warehouse, and timely despatch of customer goods from the warehouse to external parties.The role requirements are to complete various warehouse/production area tasks as safely, accurately and efficiently as possible, embedding a strong safety-first culture.Support functions in the production area – replenishing packaging, removing used packaging, placing pallets on to production lines and/or removing for storage or consumption.

**To be considered for this role, you must hold a Counterbalance Licence and have experience in operating one**

The Details:

• Salary: £29,536.22 annual, £13.52 per hour (OT paid at time and a half)
• Shift Pattern: 4 On/4 Off Days
• Shift Pattern:06:30-18:30
• 42 Hours Per Week Average
• Full-time, permanent
• Counterbalance experience is Mandatory
• Monthly Pay

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using internal WMS system, laptop and hand scanners
• Receipting pallets from the production lines and accurately scanning in to the warehouse
• Picking orders ready for despatch
• Stock rotation (FIFO) and consolidation
• Ensuring all tasks are carried out to the highest of standards, working in partnership direct with the customer
• Adhering to site, warehouse and production area health and safety rules at all times
• Operating a ‘clean as you go’ policy to ensure the warehouse is free of excess debris, pests etc.
• Assisting on the loading bay (as and when required)
• Carrying out any other reasonable requests made by Supervisor/Manager

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• 1+ year operating a counterbalance FLT
• An in-date, accredited FLT license (RTITB, ITSARR, AITT etc.)
• Computer literate
• Previous warehouse experience (ideally within the food and/or beverage industry, but not essential)
