Job summary

The Best Connection is hiring a Forklift Counterbalance Driver for a busy food manufacturing site. Night shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on a 4 on / 4 off pattern. £15.56 per hour with a Temp-to-Perm opportunity.

You will operate counterbalance forklifts, load/unload, and maintain stock records in a health, safety and food hygiene focused environment. SAP knowledge is preferred; a valid forklift licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Five years' recent experience operating counterbalance forklifts.
• Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
• Valid in-date forklift licence is essential.

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Counterbalance Driver to join a busy food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be confident operating forklifts safely and efficiently, with a strong commitment to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate counterbalance forklifts to move raw materials and finished products


• Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently


• Maintain accurate records of stock movements


• Adhere to all health & safety and food hygiene procedures


• Support the wider team to ensure smooth production flow

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' recent experience operating a counterbalance forklift, preferably within a food manufacturing environment


• Knowledge of SAP systems preferred


• Valid, in-date forklift licence (counterbalance essential; reach truck advantageous)


• Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment


• Strong understanding of health & safety regulations


• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment


• Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player


• Ability to provide employment references
