Job summary

CHEP UK Limited is looking for a skilled Counterbalance FLT Driver to join our South Ockendon team. You will operate 4.5-ton triple fork FLTs in a fast-paced yard, supporting production and haulier operations while ensuring safety and efficiency.

You will direct visiting vehicles during loading/unloading, maintain production flow within SLAs, and report issues promptly. The role offers full-time, permanent employment with a strong benefits package and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience as Counterbalance FLT Driver in a busy yard environment.
• External FLT licence preferred; in-house licences considered.

Job Description Counterbalance FLT Driver – South Ockendon (RM15) Salary: £28,624.43 + 20% shift allowance = £34,349.31 per year Shifts: Double Days, Mon–Fri (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm rotating weekly) Contract: Full-time, Permanent Location: South Ockendon, RM15 (commutable from Rainham, Dagenham, Grays, Purfleet, Hornchurch, Romford & surrounding areas)

About the role

What we need from you

• Experience as a Counterbalance FLT Driver (busy yard/HGV loading preferred)
• External FLT licence (RTITB or ITSSAR) is ideal – in-house licences considered
• Experience with double/triple fork FLTs = big advantage
• Safety-conscious, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
