Job summary

Change Grow Live is seeking a Counselling Coordinator and Volunteer Lead in Croydon to oversee the counselling service and spearhead a thriving volunteer programme. You will manage qualified and trainee counsellors, uphold clinical governance and lead service development with a focus on inclusion and co-production.

Qualifications

• Level 4 counselling or psychotherapy qualification.
• Current registration with a professional body (BACP, UKCP, NCPS, COSCA or equivalent).
• Significant post-qualification counselling experience.
• Experience in leadership, supervision, training or development of counselling students and volunteers.
• Strong knowledge of therapeutic approaches and trauma-informed practice.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to inclusion, co-production and empowering people to reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a counselling service delivering safe, effective and person-centred therapeutic support.
• Recruit, support, develop and supervise volunteer counsellors, counselling students and wider service volunteers.
• Assess referrals, allocate counselling support and monitor waiting lists and service performance.
• Ensure high standards of clinical governance, supervision and professional practice.
• Build relationships with universities, colleges, volunteer centres and community partners.
• Lead volunteer recruitment, training and development activity.
• Drive user involvement and co-production across the service.
• Use feedback and outcomes data to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
